As well as getting to the 3 Australia games Joe + David took in 4 more.
Joe advises they saw an average of 3.5714286 goals a game - the debate on the best one continues....tough call between the Argentina and Brazil games - meanwhile here's a few photos...
Netherlands 2 Denmark 0 at Soccer City, Johannesburg
Well - what shirt would you wear but your Balmain one?
We saw the potential winners brush Denmark aside in a stadium crammed full of orange wearing fans.
We learned that the next day 200 vans/cars/combis assembled at a restaurant near where we were staying to drive in a convoy to Durban - a 5 hour drive!
Argentina 4 South Korea 1 at Soccer City, Johannesburg
Meeting both sets of fans before the game - and blowing the vuva, of course
Brazil 4 Ivory Coast 1 at Soccer City, Johannesburg
Good to meet a bloke with arms as long as that!
The fabled Brazil fans were all dressed up a bit more than usual due to the evening cold - but the game was pretty fiery and it was just like a visit to N5 with a dodgy burger after the game...
England 1 Germany 4 at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Bloemfontain
A 4 hour drive to Bloem shared with convoys of England fans including the fabled white van man - especially fun at the various toll booths en route.
You all know what happened - but the atmosphere was great - the England fans chose to sing instead of play the vuvas - and Joe was surprised to see them all standing throughout the game. They were very well behaved- despite the obviously poor refereeing for the 'second goal' - after the game I was amazed to find the England and Germany fans mingling happily and we were able to go out for a pizza amidst them all with no trouble sighted at all - the kids especially liked their new found superhero friend.
