A BLOG ABOUT OUR TRIP TO THE WORLD CUP IN SOUTH AFRICA

This is a blog to share information with our friends and family about our upcoming trip to South Africa to follow Australia in the World Cup, see the other Big Game in the Kruger Park and see the country where Pamela was brought up.

Australia Games We Attended...

We got to all 3 Australia games - had a great time blowing the vuvuzelas and generally having fun.

Australia v Germany in Durban
Had a great few days in Durban soon after we arrived - very warm - cracking atmosphere in the town - great fansite on the beachfront - only problem was the result...ah well...

The stadium was one of the best we went to - amazing arch over it with a monorail running over it - and about 90,000 vuvezelas going off!!!
Welcome to SA - AYOBA!!!

Ghana v Australia in Rustenberg

The stadium at Rustenberg.............before our' Arry was sent off and it all started to go wrong.

For 15 mins or so all was great as we went 1-0 up - in the end we still should have won it - if only Wilkshire could have taken his chance.

Interesting location of the Rustenberg Stadium - handy for the nearby settlement...........

Australia v Serbia

A game we had to win - and we did!  Great atmosphere as we outnumbered the Serbians by miles - the bars were overcrowded and for a few minutes we thought we may go through - but you can never reply on the Germans to deliver a result for you - and Ghana sneaked in.  Still, it was good to get a win and the Serbs were none too happy.

Nice to meet up with the world famous SMH photographer Steve Christo at the game - he's not often in front of the lens...
